During my last few days in HK, I have to mention something that irritates me. Cutting fingernails in public places! I've seen people cut their nails in the mall while walking with their friends, on the train, on the MTR, on the bus. I'm not sure if it's a cultural difference that makes me cringe every time I hear the clicking of a fingernail clipper in public. Why don't they feel embarrassed about this somewhat private task? I realize everyone needs to cut their nails. I just can't accept other people's fingernails flying around while I'm walking around in the local shopping mall.
